Blueprint for Black Power Convention I

This Groundation is convened in honour of our great Warrior-Scholar, Nana Amos Wilson. Nana Amos Wilson is the Author of:

  • The Developmental Psychology of the Black Child
  • Awakening the Natural Genius of Black Children
  • Blueprint for Black Power

He also established Afrikan World Info Systems, a publishing company dedicated to knowledge production, specific to the needs of the Global Afrikan Community. Few, if any, were more prolific in providing a more scientific analysis of the plight of Black people, and putting forward tangible programmes. Shortly before the publishing of Blueprint for Black Power, Nana Wilson passed away - 14th January 1995. He was on the verge of developing a credit union and other institutions around the community businesses and organisations he was involved in.

Nana Amos Wilson laid a Blueprint. He did his work. Now we honour him the best way we know how - profiling those who are building on this illustrious legacy, engaging the Blueprint in thought and action.

EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN:
THE POWER IS IN THE ACTIVATION

The Afrikan Rising Narrative has been dominating the world of Geo-Politics for close to a decade. With headlines such as "AFRIKA IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS" & "SEVEN OF THE 10 FASTEST GROWING ECONOMIES IS ON THE AFRIKAN CONTINENT";  alongside a number of high profile summits with Europe & Asia, it would seem that Afrika is the midst of an economic surge. After decades of reports consisting almost exclusively of poverty, corrupt governments, human rights violation and virtual no industrial infrastructure, it would seem we have something to celebrate.

Ghana Year of Return indicates the rising interest in Repatriation among Diasporan Afrikans. It seems strange therefore, that the ideologies associated with luminaries such as Winnie Mandela, Walter Rodney, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah etc... are increasingly considered "outdated" in favour of this modern equivalent that claims to be a more  pragmatic approach.

But who is the author of the Afrika Rising Narrative? What of the economic and political indicators being used to support this idea? Are the living standards of Afrikan people improving on the whole? Bro. Ldr. Mbandaka will explore all this and more - assessing the viable avenues for self-reliant Nation Building!

Let's celebrate Nana Amos Wilson by examining and implementing his work in our daily lives in order to transmit a culture of excellence in all that we do. The maximum power of his message lies in our ability, as Afrikan people, to transform his crucial concepts into concrete action steps for the cultivation of our youth. And through their development, we also heal and grow as adults.

This sharing will examine some of the most powerful principles of Afrikan-centered education highlighted by Nana Amos Wilson and provide practical tools and an opportunity to reflect, reform, and refine ourselves at a core level using our culture as our cure.

With each movement being calibrated, calculated, and intentionally aimed at developing our children from the spirit, the body will follow translating to our very DNA on a cellular level and commanding the mind to function in alignment with our true LIBERATION! Please come prepared with a notebook and pen. As for the second half of this presentation, we will be engaging in some personal inner work as it pertains to the awakening of your own inner genius creating a visual roadmap for stimulating positive change.
